Complete Reburbishment

This project involved a complete refurbishment of a small flat located within a grand Victorian building. While the building had seen numerous renovations, the flat itself had been neglected for many years and required a comprehensive overhaul.

We began by replacing the kitchen and making slight adjustments to its layout to maximize space efficiency. The units were finished in a sleek, glossy white, complemented by thick oak worktops. Chrome-finished appliances and fittings were selected, and the floor was adorned with striking black and white tiles. The end result was a clean, classic, and timeless aesthetic that exuded elegance.

The bathroom followed suit with the kitchen's design, featuring classic flooring and white metro tiles on the walls. A touch of modernity was added through the use of dark grey grout. The bathroom units were designed in a classic style and included a freestanding back-to-wall bath, further enhancing the space's timeless appeal.

As the flat lacked a centralized heating system, we removed the existing electric space heaters and installed a brand-new system complete with traditional column radiators.

Recognizing the subpar quality of the current doors, we replaced them with original period doors sourced from a local salvage yard. Although not from the Victorian era, these doors added a sense of class and quality to the space. We carefully restored them by sanding and oiling, preserving their charming character.

Given the small size of the bedroom, we faced the challenge of incorporating a bed and storage while optimizing space usage. To address this, we constructed a custom wardrobe with sliding doors, ensuring efficient utilization of the available space.

The flat was meticulously decorated to a high standard. We performed any necessary plastering work and finished the walls with brilliant white acrylic paint, creating an atmosphere of spaciousness. In the front room, we introduced a dark grey feature wall, adding a touch of cool, modern styling. Ceiling roses and traditionally styled lighting fixtures were incorporated to infuse a further sense of tradition.

New carpets were fitted throughout the living areas, completing the overall transformation of the flat. The end result was a clean, tidy, and classic space with modern elements that will retain their freshness and appeal for many years to come.
