Childs Bedroom

The task involved transforming a child's bedroom in a charming 1930s semi-detached house that had undergone its last renovation in the 1970s. The ceiling presented an Artex texture, prompting the decision to skim it with plaster. Simultaneously, the off-center positioning of the ceiling light, which appeared rather peculiar, was rectified by centralizing it.
The walls boasted a wood chip effect, necessitating their complete stripping back to the bare plaster. Afterward, the plaster was carefully sealed and adorned with a robust, heavy gauge paper.
For a bright and welcoming ambiance, a colour palette featuring a white ceiling and woodwork, along with a mid-tone green, was chosen. The selected paints were all acrylic-based, sourced from the reliable and durable Dulux brand, ensuring longevity.
The floor underwent a thorough sanding process, resulting in a basic yet safe and clean appearance, achieved using a heavy-duty belt sander. It was then painted with a mid-grey floor paint. Eventually, a large rug would be placed on the floor as a final touch.
To add a touch of elegance, brushed brass switches were installed, accompanied by a striking metal yellow ceiling lampshade and pristine white Venetian blinds, providing the perfect finishing touches to the room.
