Bedroom

The renovation involved completely stripping the walls and ceiling to expose the original plaster. Work was carried out to repair the plaster, particularly in a small area affected by water damage. The water issue had been resolved and the walls were allowed ample time to dry, reaching a moisture content below the recommended 17%. The damaged areas were then treated with two coats of stain block to prevent any stains from bleeding through. The rest of the walls were actually in a dry condition and prone to minor surface crumbling, they were treated with two coats of PVA sealant before being lined. The ceiling was in similarly poor condition, as indicated by the presence of heavy embossed paper, so it was skimmed with fresh plaster. The room was finished with brilliant white ceilings, plum-colored walls, and wardrobes, with the doors and skirting also painted in brilliant white to create a classic border. The walls were enhanced with Art Deco-style wallpaper. The floor was prepared by removing the old varnish, filling gaps, and finishing with a dark floor oil. Finally, all fixtures and fittings were replaced with contemporary brass-finished pieces. .
